A new Google gadget! It’s been a while but I got the urge to put a new gadget togther.
So it’s a weather gadget, oh yawn! don’t we have a tonne of those already? Isn’t the official Google gadget for weather good enough? Well yes and no. I’ve been using the official Google weather gadget for ages but I’ve recently found that it no longer works with locations in the UK! So here’s my take on a weather gadget - it’s using the Google weather API (which is used on the iGoogle personalised site). To use it you simply enter your location as a city in the options - e.g. “London, UK” or “Cupertino”.
The weather icons come for a set on deviant art by JyriK I’m using them under the Creative Commons license

I’m afraid the answer to this is going to be horribly obvious, but how do I get it to show the forecast three days into the future? I can only get it to show the weather for the current day.
In order to show the forecast, click the graphic on the left representing the weather condition.
how do I know what city the weather is showing.I”m from Toronto. Is that the weather shown?

I like the gadget! The official Google gadget doesn’t know about Cambridge for some reason. It looks hackable but I don’t quite have the skills
One enhancement request: when you resume from standby your gadget displays ?, presumably it doesn’t retain the previous weather data or thinks it’s expired. Could you fix it?
Thanks
Just added this, but it’s missing one feature…the name of the place you’re watching the weather for! I live in one place, but work in another, and then visit another on a regular basis - so I have several feeds.
This would make it perfect, and would replace my Google Weather feeds (for cities that aren’t even close to me..!).
Cheers!
I like the weather gadget better than the standard Google gadget, but there’s one thing I’d like to see you add: I’d like to see the graphics change at night so you’re seeing the moon (or the moon behind clouds). It seems strange at night to be seeing the sun in the gadget…
